The abyss embraced the brave men
gently, gently, as if it refused to give them any more pain
The deep sea played a quiet lullaby
softly, softly, sending them into their long, eternal slumber
The sea floor is the gate to the Heaven
Under the complete darkness, there is a gentle light.
Calling, calling softly
Return, return to me, said the light.
The light is our Lord, welcoming the brave men
Under the complete darkness, is the sky of the Heaven.
He then embraced the brave men
Gently, gently, more gentle than a mother's embrace.
Welcome back to our Lord's side
And rest in peace...
If you ask me why I REALLY hate Spider Orchid and doesn’t mind showing it to you guys, here’s my answer.
I actually never consider Spider Orchid as the true part of the archetype. Its design ruined the archetype theme. The effect is also mediocre, but since I am the person who look for a good design before the effect, especially if it’s about an archetype I like, let’s focus on the design only.
If we are talking about the design, we can see Predaplant is based on either:
Unfortunately, moon orchid is nothing like bee orchid, if we have to compare with other orchid that also became a Yugioh card of the same archetype. Its appearance is beautiful, so beautiful it destroyed the archetype theme. So beautiful it attracted insects like most flowers did (unlike the bee orchid that trick male bees to mate with it). Moon orchid can never fall to one of those categories above. That’s why I said Spider Orchid ruined the archetype, design-wise. And that’s also why I’m so, so happy with the release of Triphyovertum and Heliamphora birb (the card name is PitA to write so I just call it “Heliamphora birb” or “Heliamphora pterosaur”. It’s easier to write).
The fairest I can say is that MAYBE, just maybe, the team ran out of time when brainstorming about the plant base and just took the first orchid they see. You see, if the team wanted to stick on using orchid as plant base, it’s fine. Predaplant has Ophrys Scorpio which based on an orchid. BUT, they only to change the genus of the orchid. Orchid came in many, MANY forms, from beautiful to odd-looking. You can see some examples here. They should pick another orchid that fits the archetype better than moon orchid.
